    23-Year-Old Webster Parish Man Dies from Accidental Gunshot

    WEBSTER PARISH, La. — A Webster Parish man tragically died Wednesday from an accidental gunshot wound at his Dorcheat Road home near the Evergreen community.

    Sheriff Jason Parker identified the victim as 23-year-old Dalton Taylor. He was transported by private vehicle to Minden Medical Center, where emergency staff attempted to treat him, but he later succumbed to his injury.

    Deputies were dispatched around 5 p.m. after reports of a gunshot victim at the hospital. After speaking with witnesses, authorities determined that the shooting was accidental. Parker said Taylor’s handgun accidentally discharged, striking him in the lower abdomen.

    Taylor’s body has been sent to Little Rock, Arkansas, for an autopsy.

    “This is truly a tragic event, and we offer our sincerest condolences to his family and friends,” Sheriff Parker said. “They will be in our prayers.”

    The investigation confirmed no foul play was involved.

    81-Year-Old Man Dies in Fatal Crash at 71st and Yale

    Tulsa Ok —  September 3, 2025, a deadly traffic accident occurred at the intersection of 71st and Yale, claiming the life of 81-year-old Andre Champagne.

    Police reported that a northbound Chevy pickup truck attempted to turn left but failed to yield, colliding with a southbound white Chevy Malibu traveling through the intersection on a green light. Champagne, the Malibu’s driver, was extricated from his vehicle and rushed to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

    The pickup truck driver was treated for minor injuries and released.

    The Advanced Traffic Investigators are continuing their examination of the crash scene. A final report will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office. Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.

    Two University of Maryland Eastern Shore Students Killed in Worcester County Crash

    SNOW HILL, Md. — Two University of Maryland Eastern Shore students tragically lost their lives in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday evening in Worcester County.

    The accident occurred at 8:18 p.m. on September 3, 2025, on Nassawango Road near Camp Road in Snow Hill. A 2016 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck, traveling southbound, failed to navigate a curve and left the roadway, colliding with several trees.

    The driver,c, 18, of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Munir Loyan Morris, 18, of Capital Heights, Maryland, was airlifted by the Maryland State Police Aviation Command to Tidal Health in Salisbury but later succumbed to his injuries.

    No other occupants were in the vehicle. Both Hawthorne and Morris were students at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, which has been assisting in notifying their families.

    82-Year-Old Woman Killed by Stray Bullet While Sitting on Porch in Birmingham

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — An 82-year-old woman has died after being struck by a stray bullet in Birmingham Wednesday night.

    The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. in the 3200 block of Balsam Ave SW. Officers responding to a reported shooting found the woman, later identified by the Jefferson County Coroner as Aldorthia Burrell, lying on the porch of her home. She was transported to UAB Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

    Police said the shooting stemmed from an earlier altercation on 33rd Street SW and that Burrell was not the intended target. No suspects are currently in custody.

    Birmingham Police Chief Michael Pickett condemned the attack, noting that Burrell was an elderly woman sitting on her porch at the time. “It’s unacceptable… we’re literally not gonna let up until that person is in custody. The city is gonna feel that until we get that person in custody,” Pickett said.
